In a public announcement on Monday at 2:00 p.m., Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has announced that all K-12 schools in Virginia will remain closed. This effectively ends the 2019-20 school year.
This decision is the result of a need to limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Northam also issued additional restrictions for restaurants saying that only takeout, curbside and delivery options can only be offered for the time being.
Recreational facilities like movie theaters and bowling alleys must close as well as barbershops, salons and spas.
Non-retail establishments can remain open, but must only have 10 patrons inside at a time. More information is forthcoming as the situation continues to develop.
