The Bruins won’t find themselves preparing for large class on National Signing Day. Among the few will be Tyra Brewington-Parker, Jaquan Pinson, Josiah Hill and De’vonte Yates. Both were huge down the stretch for Bethel helping the Bruins win their last two contests and almost sneaking into the playoffs in the process. A possible first-round matchup with Ocean Lakes loomed as a consolation which wouldn’t have been the fairest compensation for the Bruins troubles.
Nevertheless we’re at a point in the off-season where many prospects are condensing their focus and shifting their attention to the collegiate programs that have shown the most effort in recruiting. In that group is De’vonte Yates (2019 ATH 5-8 170) who entered the beginning of the week with 18 collegiate offers. However, on Tuesday evening, Yates was able to abbreviate his offer list from 18 to just five programs to make his decision just a little more painless come National Signing Day.

“I feel as if these five programs are a home to me, would help progress and also get me to the next level,” Yates told recruit757 pertaining to his list.
Coming into his senior season, Yates didn’t have an offer to his name. He was able to notch his first collegiate offer at the end of September from Bluefield College. Since then he’s been able to amass 18 total offers including from programs such as Clarke, Culver-Stockton, Arkansas Baptist, Glenville State, Greensboro and North Carolina Wesleyan.
“My word of advice to rising seniors is to believe and trust the process,” Yates stated. “Also, patience is the key. Just keep grinding and praying. God will make a way.”
