Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School had a landmark day on Thursday.
Early in the afternoon, Athletic Director Jon Hoggard announced the appointment of Tommy Austin as the new head football coach.
On Thursday, he announced his commitment to Texas Christian.
Coach Hoggard introduced Barlow as one of his “mud diggers” (offensive linemen) before turning the spotlight over to Al to reveal his decision.
“The special part about being in this group is that our bond never dies. No matter what college you decide to attend, you’ll always be a mud digger to me,” Hoggard exclaimed.
Barlow clasped his hands and gleamed in the moment.
“I’d like to thank the man upstairs. I’d like to thank my family. Without them, I would be nowhere. I would be nobody. I want to thank all the coaches who have helped me and all the people who have helped in this process,” Altrique said. “I am beyond blessed to say I’ll be committing to TCU.”
Barlow’s commitment is added to last week’s commitment by Cox defensive back Keontae Jenkins, who will also leave Virginia Beach to land in Fort Worth.
