Just a few years ago, Altrique Barlow (2020 OL 6-3 350) took the risk of transferring to Bishop Sullivan to take on some competition that he might not see at Grassfield.
College offers flowed in, and Barlow is now one of the most highly recruited linemen in the 757 for the recruiting class of 2020.
Coach Chris Scott has moved on to the Oscar Smith football program, and Bishop Sullivan is returning to the TCIS, but that doesn’t affect the high stakes of Barlow’s recruitment.
On Thursday, Altrique unveiled his final four college offer list.
“Blessed to be in this position. Top 4: Auburn, TCU, Georgia and Virginia Tech,” said Barlow in a tweet. (College names edited for brevity)
It was practically Barlow’s first tweet in a month as he went dark from March 5 to April 2. One fan even noted on Twitter that Barlow referred to Virginia Tech as VPI or Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. That’s the “old-fashioned” full name for Virginia Tech that also appears in the cheer created in 1896 that yielded the schools mascot, the Hokie.
Barlow’s final four was also shared in a video that went along with his tweet. You can see it below.
