Virginia Tech landed our number six athlete, Green Run wide receiver Lakeem Rudolph. Rudolph and the number five athlete will be teammates in the future since our number five has also verbally committed to the Hokies.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in and around the 757. We’re now inside the top ten of our countdown, and the number five athlete is Maury running back C.J. Beasley.
#5 C.J. Beasley (2020 RB 5-9 170) – Maury High School
Beasley is part of a Maury crop of seniors that makes the Commodores loaded for 2019. KeAndre Lambert heads the list as a yet to be committed athlete. Commodore teammate Darian Varner has committed to Temple and teammate Dashaun Peele has committed to Navy. There are more commitments coming.
The Commodores blasted Bethel High School in their season opener as the first game of the recruit757 Kickoff Classic doubleheader. Next, Maury faces a test with cross-town rival Lake Taylor on the docket.
“C.J. is explosive, dynamic and a play maker. He’s gritty and anything you ask of him, he’ll get it done. As a person, he’s very determined. He has all the intangibles. He’s respectful. He gets it done in the classroom. The faculty, the coaches (football and track), teammates… we all love him. I don’t worry about him past high school. He’s going to accomplish whatever he puts his mind to,” said Maury head coach Dyrii McCain in his address to the audience at C.J. Beasley’s commitment ceremony.
There’s a lot of good football ahead of him.
