Lee-Davis senior tight-end Aaron Bowers (2019 TE 6-3 220) has decided to attend Christopher Newport University to continue his athletic and academic career.
Bowers choose the Captains over NAIA Culver-Stockton and ODAC rivals Bridgewater College and Randolph Macon.
When asked why he choose Christopher Newport University, Bowers stated, “ I loved the campus and the atmosphere there. I had been in contact with coach Mariani and coach Mattson the most and they want to bring me in as a tight-end.”
In his two years as the head coach of the Captains, Link’s squad finished 5-5 in 2017 and grew that mark to 7-2 in 2018, with a 6-1 conference record. Frostburg State won the conference, but could leave the door open in 2019 with their move up to Division II Football. The Captains return a good group of starters and the future looks solid for the team.
Bowers intends to major in computer science and minor in cyber security at CNU.
