At the mid-point of his sophomore season, Norview WR/DB (2022 WR/DB 6-2 180) Daylen Everette has landed his first college scholarship offer.
Pitt assistant coach Chris Beatty made the offer in a phone conversation with Norview assistant coach Jarome Bell on Tuesday night.
“They really like Daylen’s lock down skill and speed. They’re excited to get him up for a visit and excited they will be recruiting him to go with the kids they have now,” Bell explained. “(Pitt) has been on him for a while. They said his mid-season film looks good. Maryland and Baylor might be the next to jump in.”
As a freshman, Everette impressed a lot of coaches at Norview’s college workout day in May. He ran a blazing 4.37 forty at that event and it generated some buzz among the coaches who recruit the 757 regularly.
Over the summer, he made a number of camp stops. In total, he has visited Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State, NC State, UVA, Virginia Tech and UNC.
“Zohn likes him a lot,” Bell stated regarding Hokies assistant coach Zohn Burden. “He was named as one of the Top 15 athletes at Ohio State prospect camp this summer.”
That kind of showing on a big stage like Ohio State camp goes a long way. Everette has been a bright light during a dim 2019 season for the Pilots. Norview has struggled to a 1-5 season so far.
Now that Daylen Everette has an offer from Pitt in his pocket, he should see more offers rolling in soon as the suitors line up for his services in the fall of 2022.
