“Near the end of my process, I narrowed the list down to Norfolk State or Hampton. After a home visit from Hampton and talking to my family about it we felt really good on the decision,” Orr said. “Throughout my whole recruiting process, Hampton has stayed near the top no matter what visit I was on. It seems like they really have a plan to use me in their program.”
Orr reported that he plans to redshirt for his first season at Hampton to build more size and strength. It will also help him get adjusted to college life.
“I plan on studying kinesiology. I will most likely redshirt my freshman year to get bigger and adapted to college. Then after that, I’ll be able to play wherever Coach Prunty puts me,” Devaughn explained. “I’m ready to get there this summer and compete.”
In addition to Hampton, Orr made visits to UConn, Norfolk State, Temple and North Carolina Central before pulling his family together for the decision.
