#24 Garrett Williams (2020 SS 5-10 175) – King’s Fork High School
Garrett Williams suffered a tough break last year.
Williams missed his junior season, a year that’s seen as the key year for college recruiting. College interest that was thrown his way in his sophomore season waned once the injury made his status uncertain. Temple University stuck with him and got his commitment this summer.
“Temple’s coaches saw him (at Old Dominion’s one-day camp) and invited him up to Temple for camp. He performed well,” said King’s Fork head coach Kermit Buggs. “Garrett has a lot of talent and was a starter as a sophomore before an injury made him miss his junior year. He’s an IB student at King’s Fork.”
Oddly enough, Coach Buggs recruited Williams while Buggs was on staff at Old Dominion. That played a big role in Williams’ recruitment getting re-sparked.
Now, Garrett’s senior season looms. King’s Fork gets a fresh start with a new head coach and Buggs comes in with significant college experience. The Bulldogs are in for an interesting season.
