Lafayette High School running back Jahlil Green is picking up steam. His recruitment has blossomed now that the Spring Evaluation period is over. College coaches have gotten back to their offices, evaluated their boards, and discovered that Green is a great fit. He’s up to four offers now, and will likely see more come in as the month progresses.
Green is a talented running back and cornerback who rushed for 1,546 yards and 20 TDs last season. He’s also a strong student who’s already qualified through the NCAA Clearinghouse. Bucknell was the first school to extend a scholarship offer. Lafayette head coach Andy Linn has confirmed that Green has also picked up offers from VMI, William & Mary, and Marshall this week.
Several ACC schools have expressed an interest in Jahlil. He camped at Wake Forest on Sunday, and “did well” according to Coach Linn. The Demon Deacons are looking at Green as a running back, but have yet to pull the trigger on an offer.
Green is one of at least four (former) Bay Rivers District athletes that’s projected to land at a Division I institution. Bruton linebacker Kapri Doucet, Poquoson fullback Grayson Boyce, and Warhill’s Devonte Dedmon have all received Division I scholarship offers this spring.
