Salem wide receiver Trevon Hill (SO WR 6-4 220) is still early in the process, but he’s developing so quickly, that he’s becoming hard to ignore. The rising junior has grown from lanky wide out to hybrid tight end/defensive end in a short time. He’s looking more and more like a college ready prospect, and that’s what has college coaches interested.
Colleges can’t talk to Trevon off campus until September, but that’s not slowing Hill down. His first offer came in from the University of Virginia late last week. Coach Chip West became the first to officially jump on board.
“(Salem Head) Coach Jackson told me they offered me,” Hill exclaimed. “Coach West said he loved how athletic I am. Also he liked how fast I can come off the edge.”
Coach West and the Cavalier coaching staff see how Trevon is developing, and they love the potential they see in him as a defensive end.
UVA isn’t the only school that’s showing interest in Hill. Trevon is fresh off of a 7 on 7 event with his team at Hampton University, plus he plans to camp at several other colleges this summer.
“Old Dominion, Virginia Tech, Hampton University, North Carolina, Penn State, and Maryland are showing a lot of interest,” commented Hill. With a list like that, you can bet interest from similar schools isn’t far behind.
