Lake Taylor defensive back Eric Floyd (2020 DB/RB 5-8 180) spent a few years at Maury before making his way over to Lake Taylor for the 2019 football season.
With his senior season on the football field starting to becoming a distant memory, Floyd now finds himself mulling over where he’ll make his next stop from both an academic and athletic perspective.
February has been more than a fruitful month for the Titans’ talented defensive back. Valley State presented itself as an option for Floyd at the beginning of February and Field of Dreams Sports Academy also offered him an opportunity just a week ago.
Keeping pace in the prep program department on Friday morning was that of Jireh Prep. The Warriors coaching staff have been instrumental in helping student-athletes realize their potential and helping guide them to their next level of development. It’s also a place that Floyd just might find himself after graduation.
“It all feels good,” Floyd stated. “But it’s still humbling.”
Floyd doesn’t have a designated position in which he is being recruited to play at the moment, but its beginning to look at though it’ll eb on the offensive side of the ball.
The former Commodore has experience at both running back and defensive back so the transition to playing one of the aforementioned positions at the next level won’t be one of a foreign design.
With time dwindling down in his senior academic year, it would appear as though the plan may be to explore the prep route further to see where it could land him. Many people cower over the idea of attending a prep school. However, prep schools allow student-athletes the opportunity to find other scholarship options, change positions, allow time to mature, and in some cases preserves eligibility.
Expect Floyd to take more time to ponder his options before coming to a decision about his future.
