The Mitchell bloodline is rich.
Bishop Sullivan linebacker Teradja Mitchell heads to Ohio State this summer as the most highly touted linebacker in the recruiting class of 2018.
Little brother Treyshaun Mitchell is following in his footsteps.
The younger Mitchell, a star defensive lineman at King’s Fork High School, took another step in that direction on Thursday with the addition of a college scholarship offer from Big Ten program Purdue University.
“They like the combination of his size and his athletic ability. He’s a great young man with high energy and a great work ethic,” said Coach Littles of his lineman.
Quite a few college coaches have come through King’s Fork this spring, and all have been impressed with the development of the football program and the presence of Mitchell. At 6-1 and 325 pounds, Treyshaun Mitchell casts a big shadow.
His offer list includes Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, East Carolina, Temple and now Purdue.
Mitchell’s teammate and fellow defensive lineman Jay’ree Hardy (2019 DT 6-3 290) has also seen his recruitment explode in the Spring Evaluation period.
Hardy’s development since his arrival at King’s Fork has been impressive. He played his junior season at King’s Fork after a transfer from Lakeland where he played his first two seasons of high school football.
Hardy holds offers from Hampton, Norfolk State, Old Dominion, Temple, and Marshall. His offer from Marshall came last week as Assistant Coach and area recruiter J.C. Price visited the school.
