Over the weekend, Kenan Luchun (2019 OT 6-7 280) decided to end his recruitment.
After more than a dozen college visits and camps, and after a senior season that saw his Landstown Eagles make a playoff run that ended with a region semifinal loss to Oscar Smith, Kenan Luchun has his sights on college football.
Luchun courted interest and offers from quite a few schools. In early June he picked up offers from North Carolina Central and Hampton University.
Ultimately it was an offer from Sacred Heart that won him over.
He tweeted his commitment on Saturday evening.
“I was told at the beginning of the recruiting process that my final decision will be one of the hardest choices I’ll have to make. It has definitely been a long process and I am truly grateful for what I have been able to accomplish throughout it. I will remember what some of these coaches have said to me for the rest of my life and for that I am truly grateful. Thank you to all of the coaches that have believed in me and given me the opportunity to grow as a person. After praying, talking to my family, coaches and friends, and doing a lot of self reflection, I have decided that I will be committing to Sacred Heart University!”

Sacred Heart is in Fairfield, Connecticut and is a Division I FCS program competing in the Northeast Conference. Their conference opponents include Bryant, St. Francis, Central Connecticut and Robert Morris.
In his senior season, Kenan was a First Team All-Beach District selection and a First Team All-Region 6A selection at offensive lineman. The All-State teams have not been announced yet, but he is in the running for a spot on the VHSL Class 6 All-State teams.
