Lake Taylor RB Malik Newton has his eyes set on 12 specific programs

Lake Taylor did its job last season.
The Titans made their way out to Liberty University in mid-December and brought home their third state championship of the Hank Sawyer era.
To this day I still have dreams of Jeff Foster dropping it in the breadbasket for Darious Speight against Tuscarora and Speight coming through each and every time. Lake Taylor executed that day better than any other day during the season.
We’d be remiss without speaking of the contribution of starting running back Malik Newton (2021 RB 5-11 215) who rushed for 142 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown. Near the end of the third quarter, a two-yard touchdown run from Newton eclipsed him over the 2,000-yard mark for the season.
His impact for the Titans is one that if his presence wasn’t available Lake Taylor may not have a heartbeat. Collegiate programs have long understood this about Newton as well as how his
bruising style of play which has been second to none when it comes to running backs on the Southside.
On March 20, Newton took some time out to focus on the 12 programs that at this moment he is interested in the most:
University of Pittsburgh
Penn State University
University of Nebraska
West Virginia University
University of South Carolina
University of Maryland
University of Louisville
Old Dominion University
Newton holds 20 collegiate offers in total including additional offers from Charlotte, North Carolina, Purdue, Liberty, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Virginia.
The Lake Taylor product still has one more year left in a Titans’ uniform so there’s a possibility his choices could change over the upcoming months and even into his senior season. Also, the order of his list is no indication of whether he favors one collegiate program over another.
