After a hot recrtuitment where he landed a slew of Division I scholarship offers, Casaan Dixon made his choice concrete on Thursday morning by signing with the Bison of Howard University.
“It feels good to be a part of an HBCU. Coach Ron Prince and Coach (Cato) June welcomed me with open arms. Howard has plenty of opportunities for success. Also the fan base and all are great and it feels just like home,” Dixon said with emphasis.
Dixon’s senior season picked uo momentum as he recovered from a knee injury that he suffered toward the end of the 2017 season. That injury kept him from camping last summer, but just like the Greyhounds picked up steam as the season wore on, so did Dixon’s recruitment.
I.C. Norcom lost their first three games of the regular season, but finished with a one-point triple overtime loss in the Region 3A Final.
Former Norcom head coach Larry Archie gushed about Dixon and his college prospects.
“Howard is getting a very good football player and and an even better person,” Archie stated. “He is a competitor that will work hard and compete at a high level in the classroom and on the field. I wish him the best and trust he will continue to work hard and get better each day.”
