Just a week ago, Daylen Everette (2022 WR/DB 6-2 180) landed his first offer.
Pitt offered and according to Norview assistant coach Jarome Bell, Daylen would be making a trip to Pitt soon.
Not so fast, Panthers. Virginia Tech is officially in on Everette as of Thursday night. They offered a scholly to the sophomore phenom.
“It’s pretty cool to receive an offer from a team that I’ve been watching since I’ve started watching football when I was a little kid,” Everette said. “I’ll be there this weekend. This will be my first time there and I am really looking forward to being there.”
There are a lot of athletes from the 757 visiting Blacksburg on Saturday for the Hokies home game against the Carolina Tar Heels.
Daylen explained that he’ll likely go to Blacksburg with a teammate or his dad. The invite list for this weekend includes players like Naquan Brown of Ocean Lakes, Maury lineman Paul Hutson, and a quartet of Oscar Smith Tigers including sophomore quarterback Ethan Vasko. More coming on Ethan.
WVU may be the next to offer Daylen, but for now he’s focused on Tech.
“I have (offers from) Virginia Tech and Pitt, and West Virginia is showing some interest. I’ll be visiting them on November 9,” explained Everette.
Daylen has a game against Booker T. Washington on Friday night, and he’ll likely hit the road for Blacksburg on Saturday morning. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
Saturday’s game against North Carolina is a sell out, and the joint will certainly be jumping. Cue Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”.
