Coach Joe Jones leads a road show at Ocean Lakes

To encourage camaraderie around the football athletes at Ocean Lakes, head coach Joe Jones ordered team t-shirts.
Much like teams who won rings at the end of the season, the Dolphins were stuck not being able to celebrate success with their athletes. They had t-shirts for the team and no way to get everyone together.
So, Jones and the coaching staff got creative and hit the road to see their athletes one by one.
“It took about seven hours to visit 50 kids and their parents (Wednesday) and 25 more (Thursday). It was so great to see them again, in person,” said Jones. “It’s been two months since our last team workout.”
The delivery of t-shirts was a small gesture considering the separation that the team and the coaches have experienced.
The shirts were supposed to a reward for hard work after the end of the spring conditioning period. Lake Taylor and Maury celebrated their state championship as a team but in isolation. Player received their rings individually.
Coaches and players alike are anxious for the return of organized practice. That would mean that football season is on the way.
As it stands now, all VHSL activities are off the schedule through June. No announcement has been made regarding Fall Sports or the upcoming football season.
