Over the weekend, Old Dominion added their fourth in-state commitment for the Class of 2019 and their 11th overall.
Essex defensive end Kevin Dameron (2019 DE 6-2 255) gave his verbal commitment to the Monarchs, adding to the investment that Old Dominion has already made on the defensive side of the ball with this recruiting class.
Dameron’s Essex team finished one game short of the Class 1 State Championship game in 2017, narrowly losing to eventual state champion Riverheads High School by a score of 17-14 in the state semifinal.
Six of Old Dominion’s eleven verbal commitments are expected to play on the defensive side of the ball, including Forest Park (Woodbridge) linebacker Joshua Burdsall, Lake Taylor (Norfolk) athlete Javon Harvey, Avalon School (MD) defensive end Khadere Kounta, and Chesire Academy (CT) safety Tanner Davis.
