College camp season is almost here, and you should see the list of schools visiting ODU prospect camps

Old Dominion has had huge successes with one-day camps in the past few years. NCAA rules changed a few years ago, and have changed a couple of times since, but since Penn State and Coach James Franklin visited an ODU Prospect Camp several years ago, the trend of drawing more schools and more campers has been red hot.
ODU has four dates on the schedule for one-day prospect camps in June, and each date has headline grabbing colleges attending.
This is a prospect’s chance to get exposed to big name schools without making a long trip.
Sunday, June 10: Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UNC, NC State, Missouri, Middle Tennessee, Buffalo, Ohio, VMI, Norfolk State, Towson, Chowan, Tusculum, Hiram and more
Friday, June 15: Penn State, Arkansas, Indiana, UMass, Albany, Clarion, Concord
Saturday, June 16: Tennessee, Maryland, Liberty, Temple, Albany, NC Central, Sacred Heart, Chowan
Saturday, June 23: Howard, Hampton, Fordham, NC Central, Chowan, Robert Morris
Across these dates, many more colleges are expected to participate.
The camps are a great opportunity for direct exposure to the college coaches who recruit here in Virginia.
Remember, your recruitment is going to be the most successful if you develop relationships with the college coaches who would recruit you. That means that you need to know who recruits the region from the colleges that you’re interested in. You’ll also want to visit the colleges you’re interested in. After all, you need to see yourself as a student at the school, not just as a football player for that school.
Most importantly, keep all of your options open. DON’T big time any college coach. You never know what offers and interest you’ll end up depending on for your college career, PLUS college coaches change jobs often. The assistant coach at a small school, might be coaching at a MUCH bigger school next year or even next month. You never know who can help you in your quest for earning college scholarship offers.
Camping with Old Dominion in June can save you some travel, but you’ll still want to hit other college camps this summer. Make those relationships. Get out and get seen!
