Oscar Smith athletes have been grabbing college offers left and right this off-season.
One prominent rising senior is safety Maurice Freeman.
On Thursday, Freeman unveiled his final four schools, and all four were out-of-state.
I’m from VA, I love VA, but I can’t stay in VA💯 it’s a new journey ahead and it’s time for me start that journey🤧‼️ TOP 4❤️ pic.twitter.com/ia5NtVbV4Q

His final four includes Appalachian State, Indiana, Ole Miss and Illinois.
He expanded on his tweet with a statement to recruit757.
“With my top 4 you can see that all of them are not in Virginia. Based on how I feel, I want to go start a new life, meet new people, and start a new journey,” Freeman stated. “How I narrowed my top nine down to four was based on where I felt comfortable, and how much love and energy I get from the coaches, and the fans from each school. I got a lot of love from the schools in Virginia, like Liberty.”
Freeman is determined to make his contributions to Tiger Football for one final season. The VHSL has stopped all public school athletics for the fall and instead, Freeman and the Tigers will hold out hope that a spring season will be played. If not, Freeman moves on to the college level with similar goals in mind.
“I’m looking forward to go to college and working hard for my starting position. I’m never going to give up until I get what I worked hard for, and I want to put on a show for the 757,” Maurice said.
