Coming off of a successful junior campaign where his team returned to the Class 6 state championship game and he tallied a personal best 51 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and an INT, Maurice Freeman has now added a new college scholarship offer.
At the beginning of the week, Freeman picked up an offer from East Carolina.

“ECU is a good offer to have in the books. I can’t wait to go down there for a visit to meet all the coaches and see the campus,” said Freeman via Twitter message. “They really like me and my film. That makes me feel welcome to ECU and that they want me to come play on their defense.”
East Carolina gives Maurice a good destination for him to play close to home since Greenville is only a couple of hours away from Chesapeake.
“I don’t know that much about the school but I’m willing to find out more. It’s close to home and that’s a good thing for me and my family. I heard that it’s a good program to be in and Coach (Chris) Scott put a few players in ECU so that’s a good thing too,” Freeman said.
On Wednesday, Freeman added an offer from Liberty University.

Freeman’s offer list now includes Virginia Tech, Old Dominion, East Carolina and Liberty.
He was humble about the offers and made it clear that he will take his time with the recruiting process.
“I don’t have any campus visits scheduled yet. I’m just being patient with this recruiting process. I plan on visiting Virginia Tech, ODU, and of course ECU.”
I’m sure that Liberty can be added to that list. We talked to Maurice after he landed the East Carolina offer, but before he landed Liberty on Wednesday afternoon. Lynchburg isn’t very far away either, and that gives Freeman four great options that are close to home.
