Jaylen White, Corey Wilson continue to pull in offers for Phoebus

While most of the Peninsula District lay dormant with the exception of perhaps Woodside, Phoebus continues to assert itself on the recruiting forefront. Josiah Silver was a beneficiary last week picking up his first offer from Fordham while T.J. Stevenson picked up his first offer from Old Dominion just a week prior. Leading the conversation this week for the Phantoms are both Corey Wilson and Jaylen White. Just a week after Phoebus put on its second annual College Pro Day, Wilson and White both were able to add to their recruiting collection.
On Friday, Wilson (2020 DB 6-2 190) was able to secure another offer from Holy Cross. He turned around and backed this up with offers from Lehigh and Sacred Heart University on Tuesday. These three offers bring his total to seven after securing his first four from Hampton, Fordham, UTSA, and the Naval Academy.
White (2020 RB 5-10 192) was a day behind his defensive counterpart securing another offer from the Citadel. This brings his offer total to three after also picking up offers from the Naval Academy and Georgetown coming around at the end of last month.
“The Citadel came to the school and the coaching staff starting talking to Coach Blunt,” White explained. “I stated talking back to the coaching staff and that’s when I was told I have the offer.”
Word out of Phoebus is that Elon is stopping by on Thursday and there’s a chance more Phantoms may be awarded the opportunity to pick up a collegiate offer by day’s end. Phoebus continues to be a hot spot for college coaches as we approach the beginning of the summer. However, both the Southside and Peninsula are enjoying an influx of collegiate coaches especially with so many programs announcing College Pro Days throughout the region.
