The transfer from Penn State to Old Dominion is locked in for Ricky Slade

This is a move that’s been in the works for months.
In February, former C.D. Hylton running back announced he would enter the transfer portal.
Immediately, the rumor mill pointed to Old Dominion as a destination. Slade had a relationship with newly hired ODU Football head coach Ricky Rahne and playing at ODU would allow Slade to “come home”.
On Friday, Slade made his decision official with an announcement on Twitter.

As a sophomore tailback at Penn State, Slade was fourth in terms of production. Junior running back Journey Brown, freshmen Noah Cain and Devyn Ford all got more play than Slade in 2019.
For Old Dominion the addition of Slade is a recruiting coup. Ricky was a national-level recruit in the Class of 2018. He is now the most highly touted football prospect to commit to the school.
In high school, Slade was the workhorse for C.D. Hylton. As a senior, he totaled 1,978 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns, plus 22 receptions for 283 yards and five TDs. He had 5,499 rushing yards in his high school career.
Unless Slade gets a waiver from the NCAA, he will likely sit out the 2020 football season. He comes to Old Dominion with two years of eligibility remaining.
