Catholic may have changed their name. Some talented players have graduated. That doesn’t mean the cupboard is bare. Our #21 athlete is one of several top notch college prospects at the school.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in and around the region of Hampton Roads. Continuing our countdown at number 21 is none other than senior prospect Catholic wide receiver/defensive back Brandon Jones.

Recently, Brandon Jones made his college commitment to Army (West Point), following in the footsteps of former teammates Mondo Walker (2019) and Noah Knapp (2018).
“West Point is a great place to play football and get to be at an elite institution. I know after football I will have a multitude of careers that I can pursue. The coaching staff really welcomed me and were excited about my commitment. The environment in the locker room is like a brotherhood and I can really see myself thriving there,” said Jones.
Jones is one of several senior leaders who is expected to carry Crusader football into a new era. Head Coach Tommy Austin is on board to guide the team forward in the post-Chris Scott period. They’re playing games closer to home as they transition back into playing in the TCIS. The Crusaders’ schedule is full of out-of-conference games this season, and with players who are seasoned and talented, you can expect Catholic to respond well to the changes that are coming at them.
Brandon’s role as a top target in the passing game and as a shut down defender put him in excellent position to impress as a senior leader.
