recruit757 Fab 30: Kahleef Jimmison DB Woodside #28
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in and around the region of Hampton Roads. Continuing our countdown at number 28 is none other than senior prospect Woodside starting defensive back Kahleef Jimmison.
#28 Kahleef Jimmison (2020 DB 5-10 170) – Woodside High School
Woodside is a program that always appears to be loaded at defensive back and this year will be no different. Our 29th spot came out of Woodside in Andrew Chamblee who is a long and rangy
defensive back that can cover a lot of ground. It’s only fitting that we peg Woodside again for another one of its defensive backs. Kahleef Jimmison arrived at Woodside last year and provided an immediate impact on the Wolverines secondary.
Jimmison transferred to Woodside from Hampton Roads Academy at the conclusion of his sophomore year where he was a highly-touted prospect playing quarterback. He was able to pass for 1,376 yards and 13 touchdowns during his sophomore season as well as rush for 1,027 yards and 14 touchdowns. With Tyler Thompson taking over for Jordan Knight coming into his junior season, there was no need to disrupt the progression of Thompson. Therefore, Jimmison was placed at multiple positions to maximize his on-field production on both sides of the ball.
The Woodside product helped anchor a defense for the Wolverines that allowed just 13 points per contest last season which put them in the top third of the Peninsula District. The offseason has been just as productive as the regular season for Jimmison who has made appearances at the recruit757/Sparta Science Showcase at Redskins Park, William and Mary, Old Dominion, and Tennessee among other stops. He’s been able to log offers from VMI and Howard all the while holding a 3.0 grade point average and an SAT score of 1150.
Jimmison is definitely a prospect that deserves all the attention he’s garnered.
