recruit757 Fab 30: Evan Odom – Grassfield High School #23
by Andy Hilton, recruit757
We wrote about our #23 athlete earlier this summer and it didn’t take long for his first offer to come. Head Coach Bobby Rome at Virginia University – Lynchburg became the first to offer, immediately after the article ran.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in the 757. We’ve scoured the region for talent for almost ten years now, keeping an eye on the best of the best, but also looking for opportunities to connect athlete and high school programs with college coaches. Coming in as the 23rd best senior prospect region-wide is Grassfield wide receiver and safety Evan Odom.
#23 Evan Odom (2019 WR/MLB 6-3 210) – Grassfield High School
Evan Odom was a solid contributor in his junior season at both wide receiver and linebacker. Grassfield struggled and his contributions were less noticed.
Now coming into his senior season, Odom is poised to make an impact and break out from a recruiting standpoint. He’s tall enough and strong enough to win the battle for the ball as a wide receiver. As a linebacker, his size and athleticism are an asset.
Odom told us in June that he’s an SAT score away from earning offers from James Madison, Norfolk State, Marshall and ODU. With a hot start to his senior season, offers should be easy to come by. Grassfield will be challenged as they open against a first four of Deep Creek, Oscar Smith, Colonial Forge and King’s Fork. Last year’s young roster had few personnel losses and they are another year older. Odom’s senior leadership will be key.
