This week, we had three teams from the 757 win playoff games. Every program got a nominee for the recruit757/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week.
In their regional semifinal game, Oscar Smith produced a Player of the Week winner and this week they’ve done it again.
Oscar Smith senior wide out and defensive back Romon “Man-Man” Copeland had five rushes for 80 yards and two catches for 74 yards giving him seven touches for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Copeland also had three pass break ups on the defensive side of the ball in his team’s 29-7 win over Thomas Dale.
Last week, the Tigers had a defensive player win the award as Oscar Smith sophomore defensive tackle Caleb Jones had 14 tackles including four sacks and four TFL, plus one forced fumble in his team’s 20-16 win over Landstown.
We’ll visit Oscar Smith High School later this week to present the Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week award to Romon.
There’s an incentive for the player of the week winners to keep up with their academics, because recruit757, along with P.R.E.P.S., will award the Player of the Year award at the end of the post-season to the one player of the week winner that exemplifies the best of the region in football and academics.
We’re constantly on the lookout for top performances each week. The top six are nominated for the Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week award.
Thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings for their years of support of high school athletics in the 757. The Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week award has become a staple of our regular season and postseason recognition of top players.
