It’s been a busy week at Salem High School

The Salem Sundevils are seeing their hard work pay off.
An 8-2 regular season was good enough for a runner up spot in 2018, and the Sundevils came within seconds of downing eventual Region 5A champion Maury in a game that was won in the final seconds on a Commodore field goal.
Now, Salem is working toward 2019 goals and college coaches are taking notice.
Last week, Isaiah Henderson, Kaelon Black and Zemarion Harrell landed offers.
The halls at Salem High School have been just as busy this week with Virginia Tech offering Henderson (2020 DE 6-3 220) and Harrell (2021 DB 6-1 190). They had offered Kaelon Black (2020 RB 5-10 175) last summer. Salem head coach Shawn Wilson shared the news.
“Coach (Zohn) Burden said that he was very excited about recruiting Virginia kids. (Recruiting) guys that went to his high school makes it even better. They are some good football players with a lot of potential,” Wilson explained.
In addition to Virginia Tech visiting this week, Salem received recruiting visits from Notre Dame, Clemson and quite a few other Division I schools.
