Green Run speedster Anthony Scott has a recruitment that’s taking shape. After a Spring Evaluation period that was a little quiet, Scott is now picking up offers. He grabbed an early offer a year ago from West Virginia, but it’s been quiet since then. Scott is a 5-10 180 pound running back and defensive back who runs a 4.4 forty. Schools have been doing a lot of talking. Now they’re offering.
East Carolina visited Green Run in May, then contacted Scott last week to express their interest. After a weekend coaches meeting that followed a one-day camp, Coach John Wiley called today with a scholarship offer.
“They want me to be a Pirate,” said Scott. “Coach talked to me about school there.”
Monday was also the day that Anthony landed an offer from James Madison. The Dukes’ Satellite Camp at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex was cut short by storms, but that didn’t keep Scott from earning an offer.
“They offered me today and told me about their school,” Anthony explained.
His junior year is winding down, but the summer camp season is heating up.
“I’m going to ODU tomorrow, and I’m hoping they’ll offer. I’m also trying to go to the NC State camp on Thursday. If not, I’m going to be at the Liberty camp at the Sportsplex,” said Scott.
