Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in and around the region of Hampton Roads. Continuing our countdown at number 23 is none other than senior prospect Woodside starting linebacker Seth Naotala.
#23 Seth Naotala (2020 LB 6-1 215) – Woodside High School
We’ve been comprising this list here at recruit757 for longer than I’ve been with the company which is for going on five seasons. Back in 2015, Menchville starting defensive tackle Kalepo Naotala made the recruit757 Fab 30, however; he did so on the honorable mention list. This season his younger brother, Seth, has made the countdown and for good reason. The younger Naotala is a spitting image of his older brother possessing just as much strength and excellent lateral mobility. Seth spent his first three seasons at Menchville before quietly transferring to Woodside with younger brother (Koa) over the summer.
Transferring from Menchville to Woodside is a move that continues to deepen the defense for the Wolverines heading into the regular season. Along with younger brother Koa, it’s expected that Woodside will have a defense that will not only be able to compete at the top of the Peninsula District, but also outside of the District come playoff time. Last season the Wolverines defense allowed just 13 points per contest holding six opponents to 10 points or less including two shutouts.
Seth was a ball-hawk while at Menchville and last season enjoyed a prominent breakout that led to him picking up 157 tackles (28 for loss), eight sacks, and five forced fumbles. Over the off season the Woodside product has hit the road and spent time at UNLV, San Diego State, William and Mary, Cincinnati, and was invited to compete in the recruit757/Sparta Science Showcase at Redskins Park. Collegiate offers for Seth include Delaware State and Howard University.
