Lake Taylor and Phoebus grab the wins and the Player of the Week Award
by Andy Hilton, recruit757
For State Semifinal week, we’ve decided to run things a bit differently. We have two teams left from the 757. Both teams had great performances.
Therefore, Phoebus and Lake Taylor will both get Player of the Week wins this week!
Barry Hargraves of Phoebus scored three times and accounted for 207 yards of offense on only five touches (plus defense) in the Phantoms’ 35-14 win over Culpeper.
Lake Taylor WR/DB Javon Harvey had five catches for 211 receiving yards and two touchdowns, plus he made key contributions on the defensive side of the ball.
There’s an incentive for the player of the week winners to keep up with their academics, because recruit757, in conjunction with the non-profit P.R.E.P.S. Foundation, will award the Player of the Year award at the end of the post-season to the one player of the week winner that exemplifies the best of the region in football and academics.
Thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings for their years of support of high school athletics in the 757. The Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week award has become a staple of our regular season and postseason recognition of top players.
