by Andy Hilton, recruit757
Football is back! The season is underway and it’s time for the voting for the recruit757/Buffalo Wild Wings Player of the Week award!
You have six great options to choose from. Remember, we only nominate players from winning teams, so you not only have to have a great performance, but you also have to lead your team to a win in order to be nominated. That narrows down the field and makes it even more exclusive just to be nominated.
Here are your options for this week:
Quarterback Colt Minson of Catholic High School was 33 for 42 for 323 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-16 comeback on the road over Woodberry Forest.
Running back Bubba Thomas of Portsmouth Christian rushed for 216 on eight carries with three touchdowns in a 48-0 win over Mathews.
Salem running back Kaelon Black scored a 80-yard touchdown in returning the opening kickoff, then rushed for 192 yards and scored four more touchdowns in a 46-12 win over Princess Anne.
I.C. Norcom quarterback Jacoby Smith was 12 for 14 passing for 239 yards and four touchdowns in his team’s 42-22 win over Petersburg.
Booker T. Washington linebacker/running back Avontea Mitchell rushed for 124 yards and scored two touchdowns, plus he forced a fumble and had eight tackles in his team’s 38-20 win over Granby.
Atlantic Shores tight end Jaden Lance had six receptions for 108 yards with a touchdown, a two-point conversion reception, was 2 for 2 kicking extra points and blocked a punt in his team’s 45-15 win over Norfolk Christian.
VOTE HERE! if you do not see the voting options embedded above here on the page.
You can only vote once per Facebook account and you must have a Facebook account in order to vote. While you’re voting, give recruit757 on Facebook a like and tell your friends! The more votes you can rally for your favorite athlete, the more likely it is that he will win.
