On Thursday evening via Twitter (where else?), Salem linebacker Zemarion Harrell (2021 LB 6-3 215) announced his top six schools for college recruitment.
That top six included Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Louisville, Maryland and Pitt.

“They are all great schools. I chose these schools because I can see myself at one of them, and they are big in the position that I play in,” said Harrell. “The coaches all love that I moved from safety to backer (for Salem HS). Now it is easier for me to check the running back out of the back field because I use to play DB and that I love to hit. I can play pass coverage and stop the run at the same time.”
Harrell hasn’t set a schedule for visits yet, but he knows that one school is bound to stand out once he makes the rounds.
“They all are big schools, but that special one is going to set the bar for me in the future,” he stated. “I will be visiting them and I will commit sometime this summer or beginning of the school year.”
Louisville managed to get in on his narrowed list despite coming in late. The Cardinals offered in late January and beat out some pretty substantial schools. When Louisville offered, Zemarion told us that he planned visits for Maryland, Louisville, Penn State, Pitt, Miami, and Clemson. Being in-state schools, Virginia and Virginia Tech are regular stops for athletes from the 757. The Hokies and Hoos made the short list.
The football season isn’t that far away, and it sounds like a lot will happen for Harrell between now and then.
