Benedictine DT Jack Hall chooses Delaware

We’re at the part of the year where it’s common for rising senior student-athletes to begin to think about where they want to go to school after they leave their respective program. Better yet, most prospects have already thought about it and are now ready to actually make that decision. Benedictine starting defensive tackle Jack Hall is lumped right in the middle of that group. The BCP prospect has been lobbying all off-season on his own behalf and betting high on himself. Just two months after picking up a collegiate offer from the University of Delaware, Hall has decided to make it home after committing on Sunday morning.
“It just really seems like the right fit,” Hall told recruit804. “The staff made me a priority early in the process and they have been in contact with me almost every day since the spring. I feel like they have something special going on there with their football program and when I went on my visit it felt like home.”
If you’ve been following Hall (2020 DT 6-2 285) for any extended period of time then you know this decision doesn’t come as a surprise. Despite sending him an offer in early June, Delaware has been in Hall’s corner ever since he was a sophomore. The plan was for him to announce his commitment after the start of the regular season. However, a foot injury combined with the fact that Delaware’s recruiting class was filling up at an accelerated rate urged him to lock in his decision much sooner than later.
Hall stands to miss the first three games of the season after having surgery to repair his fractured foot last week. As of right now, he continues to be a leader on and off the football field for the players that will have to band together and make up for his missed production moving forward.
“I’ve just been really trying to be a leader in the locker room while I’m still out and stay heavily involved with the team,” Hall stated. “I’ve been coaching the young guys up and leading the defensive and offensive line in meetings and film sessions. I’ve been trying to be a good teammate and contribute when I’m not playing on the field.”
Prior to his commitment, Hall also held offers from: Richmond, Furman, Villanova, Wofford, Penn, Lafayette, VMI, Delaware State, William and Mary, Fordham, Citadel, Air Force, and the United States Military Academy.
