Chris Tyree narrows his list to three

Back in December, Thomas Dale’s Chris Tyree (2020 RB/DB 5’10” 185) narrowed his offer list to ten (Virginia, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Stanford).
However, Nick Saban was diagnosed with “FOMO” (Fear of Missing Out) in January after his 44-16 loss to Clemson in the National Championship game and decided he couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to land the nations #1 all-purpose back from Chester, VA. The five-time national champion head coach blew the doors off Thomas Dale High School and threw down an offer requesting Mr. Tyree join the Crimson Tide where the skies are so blue.
Four months later, three of college football’s most storied programs, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Alabama, are the only ones remaining in the fight to secure a commitment from Tyree. When asked about narrowing his list, Tyree explained, “The relationship with the coaches. I mean I feel comfortable with everybody on the staff there at all the schools. Another thing is how I am going to be used in all of those offenses.”
Over the weekend, Tyree was in Springfield, VA at The Opening sponsored by Nike. Last year Chris took home the fastest man award at The Opening held in Frisco, TX. On this year’s event, Tyree stated, “It was a great experience for sure. Just the fact that it was a lot of great running backs I knew. Just being able to work out with them and get to know them a little bit, hang out a little bit, have fun.
That was probably my favorite part.” He continued, “I didn’t do any testing because I’m resting my hamstring right now, but it was still a great experience.”
We’ll have a follow up feature on Chris with video from his outing at the Nike Opening Regional DC. Keep an eye out for that one, coming soon.
