#19 Reggie Jones – Hopewell (SR DE 6-1 266)
Reggie Jones had an amazing regular season this past year. The rising senior helped lead the Blue Devils to the state semifinals before falling to Lord Botetourt 28-17. Jones was able to amass 59 tackles and eight sacks on the season in route to first team All-State honors. His off season has been a bit of a blur tagging trips to the University of Virginia, The Opening in Charlotte, the University of Tennessee, the VTO Camp in Highland Springs, North Carolina State University, and the USA Development Camp among many other trips.
Jones was able to notch his first offer in early May when Bryant University came knocking. Since then he’s grabbed offers from UVA-Wise and most recently Mount St. Joseph University. Jones will team up with Nas Cooper and Mar’tavin Griffin to solidify a defensive front that only allowed 19 points per game last season. The rising senior will open this season as one of the team captains for Coach Ricky Irby.
His quest for a state championship will begin August 25 when the Lake Norman (Mooresville, North Carolina) travel to Hopewell to start the season.
