Lincoln University was up early on Monday morning looking to reload and had its eyes set on a particular program within the Central Region. Highland Springs has continued to attract a considerable amount of suitors over the years and Lincoln University is just another program to jump into the pool without needing to stick a toe in. Four-consecutive Class 5 state championships have brought a wide range of collegiate programs into the mix for the Springers and Lincoln had a field day sending offers in their direction.
Jamaree Moyer (2020 DL/OL 6-0 270), Jyshawn Jackson (2020 DB 5-10 150), Kalii Bradford (2020 RB/DB 5-10 175), Tavarus Short (2020 LB 5-9 165), Cameron Morris (2020 LB 6-0 215), and Jay Wright (2020 DL/OL 6-4 320) all picked up an offer from Lincoln University on Monday morning. Also picking up an offer was rising senior and All-State prospect Evan Robinson (2020 DL/OL 6-1 295). The Highland Springs product picked up his first offer from Robert Morris on May 30 and finally followed it up with his second offer from the Lions.
“Both of my offers were out of the blue,” Robinson explained. “I was called out of class to talk on the phone with Robert Morris and we were just chatting. At the end of the call the coaching staff told me that they wanted to offer me. I was shocked, immediately called my mom and she started crying. With Lincoln, I got called to the gym and a coach was there to keep it real.”
Currently, Robinson is getting recruiting attention from Georgetown, James Madison, and Wofford. While a group of Springers prospects headed to West Virginia over the weekend including Kelvin Gilliam, Robinson had plans for Georgetown where he hoped to further define his relationship with the Hoyas.
“I went up there for a practice a little while ago and they showed me a lot of love. I just need to get my SAT up a little and we will be golden,” Robinson stated.
Robinson doesn’t have too much of his schedule filled out as we are just 87 days outside of the start of the regular season. However, James Madison and Virginia are high on his list to camp with before the end of the summer.
OTHER SPRINGERS MAKING HEADLINES
Not to be remiss is the work of a few other Springers that have also secured offers within the last month. Jamareeh Jones (2021 ATH 6-0 182) secured his first offer from Notre Dame on May 1 which was the same day Malcolm Greene also secured an offer from the Fighting Irish. But, he didn’t stop there. Jones went on to then pick up his second from Pittsburgh on May 8, and his third from Tennessee on May 16.
Kerry King (2020 WR 5-10 160), a prospect who spent most of his time lined up in the slot last season, secured his first offer from Fordham University on May 6. He then followed that up with his second from the College of William and Mary on May 22 after visiting Christopher Newport the week prior.
Malcolm Greene (2020 DB 5-11 182) still hasn’t slowed down his recruiting train picking up offers from: Notre Dame, Georgetown, Tennessee, and Stanford throughout the month of May. Stanford put Greene at 31 collegiate offers including Florida, Michigan State, LSU, Penn State, West Virginia, and Clemson among others.
Kelvin Gilliam (2021 DL 6-3 230) and Suirad Ware (2020 DL/OL 6-2 250) have been incredibly active over the last four weeks combining to accumulate four collegiate offers. Ware secured Wagner and Robert Morris while Gilliam took the FBS route and secured offers from Penn State and Marshall.
