Thomas Jefferson’s Jaylon Jones discusses his Top Five

As a junior, Thomas Jefferson’s Jaylen Jones (6-0 185) led the Richmond area in receiving yards, tied for touchdowns, and earned double digit offers along the way. Jones recorded 76 receptions for 1,369 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
The first-team all-state receiver currently holds 16 offers. Although his recruitment remains open, Jones narrowed his list to five schools. Those five schools are East Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Wake Forest.
“East Carolina and Pittsburgh have been there since the beginning of my recruiting process and they have still kept good contact. I feel like I could see myself playing at either school,” Jones said. “Wake Forest has been on me hard too since the beginning and they have a good passing history, so of course that’s somewhere I could see myself. Boston College and Virginia Tech came a little later, but they have been on me hard and both have relatively new staffs that I have good relationships with.”
Jones remains solid to these five schools, however, there is room for the right school to sway him. This outcome seems unlikely though. His selected schools have all shown major interest and remain in consistent contact with Jones, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The recruiting process definitely does get tiring sometimes because it comes with a lot of questions and a lot of people trying to lure you in, but I just try to take it day by day and keep it in my comfort zone,” Jones said. “The recruiting process was going great for me until Covid-19 came and slowed it down a lot and limited my visits. New offers could only effect my top 5 if they show the same or more love as my top 5.”
This fall, Jones looks to remain a top receiver in Virginia and decide where he will be playing college football.
