The private school ranks continue to get some love as we have yet another Richmond Prep League athlete in the Fab 30.
Heading into the regular season, we recognize the top 30 senior prospects in and around the city of Richmond. Continuing our countdown as the 19th best senior prospect region-wide is Trinity Episcopal quarterback Taylor Eggers.
#19 Taylor Eggers (2019 QB 6-4 221) – Trinity Episcopal School
We’ve seen him at camps this summer. We’ve seen him repping the Hype Hunchos at independent 7-on-7 events since the weather broke in March. Taylor Eggers is putting in the reps and working hard to get noticed for his college recruitment.
Taylor has developed into a sizable, physical quarterback at six feet, four inches tall and 221 pounds. That has college coaches interested in a gunslinging quarterback who has poise in the pocket and who can take a hit if needed. Last season, Eggers had a breakout season, throwing for 2,349 yards and 29 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 60 percent.
Eggers reported a lot of college interest in a June interview: “A lot of schools have shown a lot of interest, and hopefully soon I could see offers from VMI, Morgan State, Charlotte, ECU, Richmond, UVA-Wise and Hampton,” Taylor said. “Robert Morris, Catawba, Tennessee-Martin, Delaware, Saint Francis, Delaware State and New Hampshire have all reached out and expressed interest.”
“UNC-Pembroke wants me down there for a visit. So does Wayne State and Appalachian State.”
He’s made visits. He’s camped. He has landed a few offers, most notably Virginia State, VUL and VCA. A successful start to the 2018 season will prove a lot, and likely seal the deal on more offers.
