Isiah Page makes commitment in a FLASH
by Byron Jones, recruit804
Varina Blue Devil standout Isiah Paige received an offer from Kent State a month ago. This past weekend the speedy athlete took a visit to their campus and returned back to Eastern Henrico committed to the Golden Flashes.
“The reason I committed early was because I have liked Kent State since Julian Edelman and Dri Archer went there. Julian Edelman has always been my favorite slot receiver. When I took my visit to the campus, the vibe was just amazing. I felt like I was home,” explained Paige.
Isiah told recruit804 that Golden Flashes Special Teams Coordinator Coach Zac Barton was his recruiting coach and extended him the offer.
Paige is one of the shiftiest and dynamic play makers in the 804 area. In his junior season for the Blue Devils, Isiah did a little bit of everything. He lined up at running back, quarterback, receiver, defensive back and returned kicks.
Paige toted the rock 57 times for 782 yards and 9 touchdowns. On the receiving end, he snagged 18 balls for 390 yards and 4 touchdowns. In limited action as a QB, Paige completed 5-12 passes and threw a TD.
Lastly, Paige made a 75-yard house call on a kick return and returned a fumble for a 75-yard TD against Highland Springs in the last game of the regular season.
Varina Head Coach Stuart Brown stated, “He is the best athlete I have ever coached. His knowledge of the game of football is advanced.”
When asked what he has been doing this off-season to prepare for his senior campaign, Paige stated, “I’ve been focused on gaining in every way possible. Trying to get better every day physically and mentally.”
