Offers continue to multiply for Amonyae Watson which makes sense. The rising senior has been on a tear this offseason as he’s continued to watch his stock rise. Not too long ago Watson increased his offer list number up to 12 when Liberty, Robert Morris, and the University of Buffalo offered him all in the same day. It was only a matter of time before offer number 13 would show its face and it finally did. Watson picked up offer number 13 from Coastal Carolina University yesterday. Watson (JR WR 6-2 175) is a part of a long list of talented players at Heritage that are breaking out at the right time.

“Coach Durkin called me yesterday right after practice and told me the entire staff is excited about me.

They’re going to offer me a full scholarship and I’ve been in contact with Coastal Carolina for a while now especially Coach Durkin. We’ve been in contact through twitter and I have his number. They’ve come to the school to check me out a couple times,” stated Watson.

Currently Watson holds offers from Navy, Army, Howard, Hampton, Syracuse, Troy, Delaware State, Towson, Vanderbilt, Navy, Army, Howard, Hampton, Syracuse, Troy, Delaware State, Towson, and Vanderbilt to go along with his offer from Coastal Carolina. Watson has been everywhere this summer from the University of Buffalo to Vanderbilt. Middle Tennessee State is still on the outside looking in as an offer still looks to be right over the horizon.

Heritage most recently made news when Jeremiah Boyd committed to Navy not too long ago. Watson also currently holds an offer from Navy so a connection between the two shouldn’t look so far-fetched. Should Navy be able to recruit the Heritage product a Boyd-to-Watson pairing may be a tandem the 757 should be able to enjoy for years. Watson currently holds a GPA slightly below 4.0 and acquired a recent SAT score of 1050. The Heritage Hurricane has the academics to match the talent he displays on the field. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to see Watson accumulate more offers before the start of the regular season.

The Heritage Hurricanes look to open up the season against Lake Taylor on August 26. Last year the Hurricanes took it on the chin against Lake Taylor losing 54-0. The Hurricanes will be searching for a different outcome next month.
