Lewis Picks Up New ACC Offer

Phoebus defensive end Harry Lewis is a young star on the rise. While the Phantoms garner a lot of attention as a program, Harry has been quietly picking up college attention as a rising junior who’s been a varsity level talent since the eighth grade. Harry is finally coming into his own, and he won’t be a well kept secret much longer.

ODU Visit Big With Branch

Nansemond River wide receiver Marvin Branch, Jr. has had a great junior year. For the Warriors football team, Branch won All-District Honors and almost led his team to the playoffs. Marvin also starred for the Nansemond River basketball team. That versatility is attractive to college coaches. That’s why Marvin’s recruitment is starting to heat up.

Granby QB Growing Interest

Granby’s William “Boojoe” Smith is seeing the hard work that goes into a 9-1 season pay off. Smith led his Comet team to a highly successful season that was just a play away from being a 10-0 campaign in 2012, and the recruiting attention from colleges has been rolling in ever since. Boojoe took a visit to Hampton University on Friday, and just recently picked up some significant SEC interest.

Menchville Loses Moore

The Peninsula District has another coaching opening. Coach Melvin Moore confirmed that he has decided to leave Menchville High School after coaching there for two years. That leaves Menchville and Warwick with coaching vacancies, in Spring practice season with recruiting visits by college coaches ready to start up on next week.
