The 2013 NFL Scouting Combine got underway today, featuring no less than five players with local ties. The biggest bragging rights go to Ocean Lakes High School. The Dolphins have three alumni competing in the Combine: Justin Hunter (Tennessee), Shamarko Thomas (Syracuse), and Marcus Davis (Virginia Tech).

It was just a week ago that Bethel defensive tackle Ricky Walker picked up his eighth scholarship offer. Today, Walker picked up offer number nine. His recruiting stock is rising and his offer list is growing like the blue chipper he’s become.
Oscar Smith quarterback Dashawn Blow has made his college commitment. After a late blooming recruitment, Dashawn has finally found his college home. He’s headed out of state, but he’s playing Division I ball.

Crabber running back Marshawn Williams has transferred out of Hampton High School and has decommitted from Virginia Tech. He’ll still be in the PD, and he’s re-opened his recruitment.
Jamil Kamara, fresh off of his first season in the private school ranks, is seeing his recruitment heat up once again. The Crusader has eighteen offers in his pocket, including a new one from out-of-state that came to him because of coaching changes. It’s just another Division I offer for a player that still piling up plenty of college attention.
One of the star players of Granby’s 9-1 season in 2012 has transferred out. Due to changes in his family life, Lineman Sherod Ryland will be playing his football in the Peninsula District in the Fall of 2013. That’s a setback for Granby, and a boost for a PD power.
