We’re only a few weeks into the season and we already have some matchups that will have a big hand in sorting the playoff race. This is the time where teams off to a hot start have to find the perseverance to keep on winning.
The teams with the better records held serve. Both Warwick and Gloucester came into tonight looking for their first wins, but they didn’t have enough. Instead, Menchville and Kecoughtan came out of the night with wins, putting them both in better position in the Peninsula District race.
Congratulations to Shyheim Swinson of Landstown High School for winning the Freedom Ford Player of the Week award. The award has been presented and photos from the event are posted in the gallery on recruit757.com!
Three or four games into the season, we expected some teams to taste early success. Did you pick Salem to be undefeated? So did everyone else. There are some surprises in the ranks of the undefeated at this point, and we have some teams that should have made it into the win column by now.

The article writer may have gotten his geography confused a bit, but the highlight is spectacular.
Congratulations to this week’s Freedom Ford Player of the Week, Shyheim Swinson of Landstown High School. In the fan voting, Swinson edged Oscar Smith Quarterback Dashawn Blow by a total of eight votes. All of the nominees had astounding performances last week, but Swinson took the prize with his performance in an impressive win over Princess Anne High School.

He’s a smart kid with a 4.4 GPA. He has book smarts, football smarts, leadership skills, and a knack for being a playmaker. That combination led him to one of the ultimate choices for college on the East Coast.
