Green Run Starts Anew, Literally

The Jeff McGowan regime at Green Run has begun, but don’t take McGowan for a first time coach. He’s been through this before. Jeff played his college ball at Appalachian State, and he’s coached in the Beach District, most recently at Kempsville. After a few years away from the high school game, McGowan is renewed and he’s found Green Run to be his opportunity to begin again. That new start began officially on Thursday with open try outs for everyone. Instead of meeting with resistance, he’s been met with enthusiasm, especially from the players who held a spot on last year’s 2-8 team.

Schedule Preview: Peninsula District

By now, most of us know that the districts are gone. Football programs have extended their district arrangments for the purpose of scheduling for the next two years. Since all former Peninsula District teams have ten games, they’ll all have their schedule set for the fall of 2013 and 2014.
