What an exceptional year! The teams in the Bay Rivers District are our performing the Peninsula District when it comes to recruiting. There’s truly a big four when it comes to recruiting in the York County/Williamsburg/James City County area. Two of the four picked up offers from Towson today, and they’re cruising along when it comes to their recruitment.

Holmes Makes The Call

After months and months of college coaches chasing him down, Lake Taylor ATH Jalyn Holmes finally nailed down a decision. He announced a decision that he had narrowed his choices in January. That was met with a lot of consternation from college coaches and fans alike. He re-opened his recruitment, then narrowed the list down again just a few weeks ago. That still made a lot of people upset.

“We’re going as hard as we can at the local players and the Virginia players, and we’re going to keep doing it…. We’re exploring (our list) now trying to find out who’s interested in us and who isn’t. I’ve challenged our coaching staff. We don’t want to leave the borders of this state unless we have to. We start right here. We start locally, then we spread out throughout Virginia. I always felt like we’ve been a regional school. You see a lot of North Carolina, DC, and Maryland kids on our roster. That part’s not going to change.
