Andrew Brown Earns Prestigious Invite From Nike

A year after what many considered one of the biggest snubs ever at The Nike Camp in Baltimore, Oscar Smith Defensive Lineman Andrew Brown got his redemption in Washington, DC on Sunday afternoon. Last year Brown did what many thought was nearly impossible to do, he beat one of the nation’s best offensive lineman repeatedly. This was not enough to earn an invite from Nike last year however. “I will not be denied next year”, a disappointed and motivated Brown said a year ago.

Quick Hits: ODU Spring Game

Monarch football fans have a lot to look forward to as ODU makes the transition to Division I FBS football. The 2013 schedule is a haphazard mix of home “buy” games and road games against some top regional opponents. The Monarchs will find themselves in the deep end of the pool very quickly as they open the season at East Carolina then travel to Maryland, but they’ll also see Howard, The Citadel, and Albany in succession at home after that. ODU can’t get complacent, and Saturday’s Blue/White game was a sign that the program is still moving forward.

Recruit Log: Goosen’s Spring Break Trip and HU Offer

To change things up a bit, we’re going to share Tallwood lineman Theo “T.J.” Goosen’s experiences in his own words. Theo Goosen (JR OT 6-5 260) took his entire Spring Break to visit colleges in the Northeast. When he returned, he took a visit to Hampton University and picked up his first offer. Goosen is ready to vault into Spring with a lot more knowledge about the recruiting process, and about himself.
