Local talents CJ Reavis (Thomas Dale, Safety, 6’1, 205) and Trevion Armstrong (Matoaca, WR, 6’4”, 215) spent the last two weekends visiting Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia. CJ, the 6’2”, 200 lbs, DB from Thomas Dale, is enjoying the courtship in-state universities are showing him presently. Trevion Armstrong has two more years before he has to decide where he will play his college career.

Bronco Senior Not Finished Yet

When some high school athletes graduate and they have not been courted to play at the collegiate level, their careers are finished, but that’s not the case for Xavier “Zay” Freeman. College football and wrestling are still a big part of his future, he hopes. Earlier this week Zay received his letter from Virginia Tech that he had been academically accepted for enrollment there. He has hopes to walk-on to the football team and wrestling squad too.

Grassfield Duo May Make A Monarch Backfield Tandem

Running backs Vincent Lowe and Isaiah Harper are both on the rise. Together at Grassfield, the duo carried the rushing load, yet Harper only had three games with double digit carries and Lowe had none. They’re “low mileage” backs. Harper had an average yards per carry of over nine while Lowe topped six. After Saturday’s one campus visit, there’s a possibility that the pair could end up in college together.

Dolphins Chasing Wolfpack Offers

A recent trip down tobacco road took three Ocean Lakes stars into Raleigh and onto the campus of North Carolina State University. Rising seniors Walter “Churchie” Harold, Mike Alston and Brandon Simmons visited the Wolfpack campus escorted by Harold’s father Ray. While on the grounds they were treated to a tour and particularly of the new dorms and weightlifting facilities for players. They found themselves impressed with everything there and look forward to more interaction with NC State and its coaches.

Fenner Takes In Wake

Oscar Smith wide receiver and defensive back Monty Fenner hit prime time last year for the Tigers as he finally found a starring role. Now Fenner is doing his best to parlay that opportunity into college offers. He impressed last summer during camp season, then scintillated in his junior year. His visit to Wake Forest this past weekend was the beginning of a new round of college trips.

Temple Suits Glovers On Visit

Princess Anne linebacker Aaron Glover and wide receiver Jordan Glover are cousins. Quarterback and safety Shelton Beale is close to the family as well. All three made a trip up to Philly with Aaron’s Dad, Deon Glover, in order to get a look at the Owls. Temple is making a bigger push to recruit in The 757 now that Phoebus wide out Romond Deloatch is up there and Assistant Coach Brandon Noble is in the fold. Noble knows The 757 from his year recruiting it at Coastal Carolina, plus his time as a First Colonial lineman.
