Preview: Great Bridge Moving Forward

Admittedly, Great Bridge Football hit a low point last season. An 0-10 record including several drubbings at the hands of opponents who have waited a long time for the occasion didn’t sit well with the Wildcat coaches or players. Change is a constant in high school football. The Wildcats have a young team once again, but Head Coach Pete Gale is confident that fans won’t see a repeat performance this year. In fact, he’s savoring the opportunity to surprise people.

Truckers Prepare For the Road Ahead

The Churchland Truckers have hit some rough times lately and are ready to hit a positive note. The Truckers are going to face tough opponents week in and week out once again this year, but for the first time in years, there are no games against Phoebus or Hampton on the schedule. A .500 season is achievable. The talent level there is on the rise. The Truckers were 3-7 last year, through the last four games, the Truckers went 3-1 and hope to carry that momentum into the upcoming season.

Sloppy Weather Does Not Stop the Ambassadors

The Norfolk Christian Ambassadors played the Portsmouth Christian Patriots in what turned out to be a rain drenched mess. The fans and players alike were soaked by games end, but the game was played with no delay, Early on both teams could not hit a groove with three and outs beginning both offenses night. Finally, the Patriots strung together a what looked like to be a seventy yard touchdown drive, but ended in a goal line fumble. That set the tone for the night for PCS.

Phoebus Puts Titanic Loss Behind Them

“These kids went through a lot last year when you look at them getting a new head coach, losing a head coach that you absolutely adored.
