York Looks To Avoid 1-3 Hole

Poquoson may have the upper hand tonight when they visit York at Bailey Field, but the Falcons have some motivation. After starting their season 0-2 with losses to Churchland and New Kent, York finally got in the win column with a 30-12 victory over Warhill last week. It’s been a slow start for Coach Doug Pereira’s team, and its a trend that they don’t want to see continue.

Historic Start Has People Talking About Churchland

Being undefeated four games into the season is a feat for any team. The feeling for Churcland High School is a little different. It has been over forty years since the likes of any coach has driven the Truckers to a 4-0 start. This record has been broken as third year Coach Alonzo Ricks has taken a team that is full of young raw talent, to the top of the standings. The Truckers have beaten two Bay Rivers teams in Warhill and York. In spite of also beating Nansemond River and Granby, the Truckers have a lot to prove still but are off to a start that not even the most hopeful of fans expected.
